Nikola has acquired a US$41.9 million grant to construct six heavy-duty hydrogen refueling stations in Southern California by means of its Hyla model.
The grant was by means of the California Transportation Fee (CTC) and California Division of Transportation, as a part of the Commerce Hall Enhancement Program.
The fueling areas can be constructed alongside freight corridors and can be designed to scale up as demand will increase. Every station will be capable of serve about 80 to 100 vehicles per day, Nikola introduced.
“Nikola is thrilled to obtain this grant from the CTC,” mentioned Carey Mendes, president, Nikola Power. “This award, in collaboration with Caltrans, will enable us to speed up the deployment of zero-emissions hydrogen refueling infrastructure, which is important for the profitable launch our hydrogen gasoline cell electrical vehicles in July.”
Nikola says the stations can be “open entry” and out there to hydrogen fueled automobiles of all makes.
