Surprise dangerous goods, hazmat blitz nets 1,774 violations

Industrial car inspectors wrote up 1,774 violations throughout a shock blitz that centered on autos transporting hazardous supplies and harmful items from June 13-17.

The Industrial Automobile Security Alliance (CVSA) says 6,204 autos have been inspected, together with 6,668 packages.

The High 3 violations included issues with delivery papers (408 violations), bulk packaging and huge technique of containment packaging violations (272), and non-bulk and small technique of containment packaging violations (269). In Canada there have been 84 violations involving Transportation of Harmful Items Coaching Certificates.

Canadian inspections have been dominated by Class 3 (240), Class 2 (129), and Class 8 (64) substances.

Within the U.S., the highest 5 hazmat violations within the final calendar 12 months have been packages not safe in car, no copy of U.S. DOT HM registration quantity, no or improper service delivery papers, delivery paper accessibility, and autos not placarded as required.
